The People’s Committee of Da Nang City has just issued a plan to segregate solid waste (garbage) at source in 2023.
Accordingly, the plan sets out the target that in 2023, Da Nang City will have more than 90% of residential groups deploying waste sorting and 90% of households effectively segregation waste in residential areas; over 70% of establishments in industrial parks and industrial clusters, 80% of production, business and service establishments, tourism and 100% of schools and medical facilities in the city segregate waste, according to the general method of the city; 80% of markets, supermarkets, and shopping centers are propagated, guided and implemented garbage classification.
Regarding the composition of waste sorted, the whole city will implement a synchronous to segregate reusable and recyclable materials (including paper, plastic, and metal) and hazardous waste (fluorescent light bulbs) damaged, used batteries and accumulators, chemical bottles and jars, etc.).
