Phu Son domestic waste treatment plant project was built in village 2, Phu Son commune, Huong Thuy town with a total investment of 74,555 million USD, including 17 work items on an area of 14 hectares.
Construction progress is currently 80%, expected to be completed by March 31, 2023; Installation progress reached 35%, expected to be completed on May 28, 2023. In terms of materials and equipment, most of the project’s equipment was concentrated in the field, accounting for 90% of the project’s equipment.
Currently, in Thua Thien – Hue, there are 7 sanitary solid waste landfills. The largest landfill is now in Thuy Phuong ward (Huong Thuy town) invested by Tam Sinh Nghia Company, which has been overloaded with a capacity of 200 tons of waste per day. Phu Son domestic waste treatment plant put into operation not only handles domestic waste but also serves as a place for environmental education, environmental protection culture, and green eco-tourism area.
Following the criteria of technical infrastructure under the geographic prioritization of VAAPP, Thua Thien – Hue can be considered as a favorable province to implement and develop the ISWM model.
